The procedure for verifying and obtaining Code Signing certificates

Code Signing certificates are used to sign applications and codes. Learn more about the acquisition process. The procedure varies slightly from product to product.

Code Signing Certificates

These certificates are validated and issued in the same way as OV certificates. After applying for the certificate, the company will be verified, which corresponds to the organization’s OV verification. After issuing the certificate, you will receive it on a token.

DigiCert Code Signing EV

This type of certificate is stored on the token for its owner’s maximum protection. Authentication corresponds to the advanced EV authentication level. Once the certificate is issued, you will receive a token that already contains the certificate and you will receive a password from SSLmarket to use it.

If you are using an existing token, you can upload the newly issued certificate to it using DigiCert; the certificate is never sent by email.
