New Domain Verification for ACME

(12/7/2026) The management of organizations for ACME, which we added to the customer administration in the spring, has been expanded to include the domain verification feature. You can request both OV and EV certificates through ACME with the assurance that the verification of the organization and the domain is already active.

Function for Organization and Domain Prevalidation

Through the ACME protocol, you can automatically obtain OV/EV certificates provided that the applicant's organization and ordered domains have already been verified; this is called preverification/prevalidation. In the customer account, in the management of ACME accesses, in addition to the OV/EV prevalidation of the organization, you can now also initiate domain prevalidation. We believe this enhancement will further facilitate the automation of certificate issuance for you.

How to Start Domain Verification?

In the ACME Access Management, under the Domains tab, by clicking the Add Domain button, you can add a new domain to the selected organization, choose whether it should be OV or EV validation, and of course, select the method of verification for this newly added domain. A new verification token will be generated and displayed in the domain overview. Once you set it according to the selected DCV method, DigiCert will verify the domain. You can also change the chosen domain verification method retroactively by clicking the Settings. A green domain status symbol and the date until which the verification is valid will inform you of successful domain verification.
