New 2FA Options - FIDO2 Passkeys
Implementation of the FIDO2 (WebAuthn) standard for multi-factor authentication (MFA) and passwordless login to a SSLmarket account
The new functionality complements existing login methods (password + OTP, SSO Google/Microsoft) with the option to use passkeys and physical security keys. The system now supports platform authenticators like Windows Hello, Apple Touch ID or Face ID, and external USB/NFC tokens such as YubiKey or Nitrokey. Activation of FIDO2 enables a so-called passwordless mode, where the traditional password is replaced by asymmetric cryptography tied to a specific device. Part of the update also includes the generation of one-time recovery codes, which serve as an authorized tool for restoring account access in case of loss of the primary authenticator.
