CAB Forum (Certification Authority Browser Forum)

Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA/Browser Forum) is a voluntary association of leading certification authorities (CAs) and the creators of Internet browsers and other Internet applications. The forum aims to publish standards and rules for issuing and managing SSL certificates, according to which they will manage the trusted authority.
Members of the CA / Browser Forum have worked closely in defining the rules for the Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates, and in 2011 was issued a new draft on "General requirements for the issuance and management of publicly trusted certificates." The goal is that all browsers and third party software to pull together and work seamlessly. Since 2012, the basic requirements must meet all accredited certification authorities that want to have their trusted root certificate.

Documents formed by CA/Browser forum are available on the website of CAB Forum.
. For example, there are versions of "EV SSL Certificate Guidelines" or the latest version of the document "Baseline Requirements for the Issuance and Management of Publicly-Trusted Certificates".
